Calling All Interns!
It’s back-to-school time and that means GPN and Nexus are looking for our 2013 Intern of the Year!
The scholarship program, now in its 14th year, recognizes one outstanding college student who has participated in a horticulture-related internship program. We are looking for those students whose internship experience changed their outlook on horticulture in the classroom and in the greenhouse.
Garden Genetics, Tagawa, Bear Creek Farms, Molbak’s Greenhouse and Nursery, D.S. Cole Growers these are just some of the companies whose internship programs who have produced several of our previous winners. If you know a college student who has completed a memorable internship, then we want to hear about him or her.
The GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year will receive a check for $3,000; travel and lodging to 2013 OFA Short Course in Columbus next July; a full registration to Short Course compliments of OFA; and a feature article about him or her in the January 2013 issue of GPN.
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in a four-year accredited university during the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 academic years; be working on a floriculture-related undergraduate degree; and have completed a greenhouse internship in 2012.
Students that meet this criteria then need to prepare:

The deadline to apply for the 2013 GPN/Nexus Intern of the Year program is Oct. 22, 2012.
