… for college students to turn in their applications for the 2014 Syngenta Flowers Scholarship Program.

Actually, next Wednesday (June 4) is the deadline, but why not get a head start?

Just to refresh your memory, Syngenta Flowers is offering not one, but two $7,500 scholarships to college students who have shown high potential in the fields of plant breeding and ornamental horticulture through scholastic excellence and experience. The Glenn Goldsmith Breeding Excellence Scholarship recognizes a college student working toward a degree in plant breeding, while the Goldsmith Seeds Floriculture Business Advancement Scholarship is awarded to a student working toward a degree in ornamental horticulture business.

Here are all of the requirements for applying for either one of these scholarships:

* The student must be an undergraduate, master’s or doctoral candidate at an accredited four-year university during the 2014-15 academic school year and carry a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

* An essay between 1,000 and 1,500 words describing what “Revolutionizing the Plant Experience” means to their career path.
