ANLA Exec Reaches Top Of Mt. KilimanjaroSource: ANLA

Last week, the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) announced that the American Nursery and Landscape Assocation’s (ANLA) executive vice president, Bob Dolibois, and his wife Susie, reached the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro! “Kili” is the tallest free-standing mountain rise in the world and the highest peak in Africa at 19,340 ft. After summiting the mountain, Bob sent a message back to the ANLA offices saying, “We did it! Tougher than we thought by a measure of ten, but we made it to the top!”

Together, Bob and Susie made the trip in honor of the green industry that they have served for the past 16 years, and in recognition of Gordie Bailey’s visionary trip, “Tour de Hort.” Bailey’s cross-country bicycle trip, spanning the years 1999 to 2003, raised $1.25 million for green industry research across the United States.

HRI is currently accepting donations in honor of the Trek de Hort. Donations can be made in the name of a business, a friend or family members. This fundraiser provides an opportunity for the husband and wife teams who own so many of our industry’s businesses to recognize their partnership, just as Bob and Susie hiked together in support green industry research. For HRI donors with established named funds, you may make a contribution to your fund in support of the trek. All donations will be used in support of industry research and will go into HRI’s Endowment Fund.
