‘Betulia Light’ and ‘Betulia Bright Pink’ are bred for excellent shelf life and continuous new flower production. The Betulia series features flowers in vivid colors and a compact plant shape. These varieties boast an extra-long flowering season and perform best in partial sun.

Use a well-drained rooting mix with a fine structure. Keep temperature at 70-72° F day and night. Root under plastic, or mist (day and night) for the first 12 days. When roots are visible, start using a well-balanced fertilizer. Rooting will take five to six weeks.

During growth, use a well-drained potting mix with a pH of 5.5-6.0. Maintain temperature at 66-68° F for the first five weeks. When desired size is reached, temperature can be lowered to 65-67° F. Growth regulation through negative DIF is possible. Allow a maximum of 1,600-2,000 foot-candles. Pinching is not necessary; varieties are well branching. Use potassium nitrate or a balanced, high-potassium fertilizer.

Short-day treatment will encourage generative growth. Short day can be achieved with black cloth, stopping artificial light or moisture stress. Short day should be given for 10 to 14 days. When finishing, the temperature can be reduced to 61° F. Allow a maximum of 2,300-3,200 foot-candles. Growth regulators are not necessary.
