Everlast is a new series of dianthus boasting double blooms, the hardiness of a perennial and continuous flowering all season. It blooms early and stays in bloom, and then reblooms as night temperatures drop in late summer.
Finished crops will reach a height of 8 to 12 inches and spread 10 to 14 inches. Crop time is 14 to 20 weeks with one plant per 4- to 5-inch pot, 16 to 22 weeks for 6-inch pots with two plants, and 16 to 22 weeks for 10- to 12-inch tubs or baskets with four to five plants.
Grow Everlast on the dry side. Maintain a media pH of 6.2 to 6.5 and EC of 1.4 to 1.8. Fertilize with 100- to 150-ppm nitrogen. Start with low concentrations after roots show and increase with plant development to the recommended levels.
Recommended temperature is 65 to 70° F days and 50 to 55° F nights. The use of cool morning treatments will improve plant quality, flower and foliage color, and plant habit. Lower the temperature by eight to 12 degrees two hours before sunrise until two to three hours after sunrise. To avoid delayed flowering, keep the average day temperature under a close watch and if necessary, increase night temperatures.
