Two new colors have been added to the Lanai series of premium verbena. Vintage Rose features a unique color combination of creamy white flowers speckled with patches of rose in the center. Candy Cane, like the name suggests, has white flowers with red candy cane stripes.

Select a porous media that drains well. Thoroughly water the rooted cuttings until media is saturated. Transplant directly into finish container with rooting media level with soil in container. Maintain media pH at 5.5 to 6.2.

Alternate between wet and medium moisture levels. Irrigate early in the morning to allow foliage to dry before nightfall. Do not allow plants to wilt. Begin fertilizing after plants have rooted out. Apply constant liquid feed with a nitrate-based fertilizer at 200- to 250-ppm nitrogen. Feeds high in ammonium may promote soft growth.

Initially provide 1,500 to 2,000 foot-candles to a newly transplanted crop. Full sun can be tolerated once a root system is established.

Large containers and baskets may require pinching two weeks after transplant to promote fuller plants. Florel can be used for a chemical pinch.
