California Bound This April? By Tim Hodson

Are you heading out west for the 2017 California Spring Trials?

This year, Spring Trials will take place April 1-6, at 15 different sites where attendees will have the opportunity to visit with more than 60 different companies (breeders and other suppliers) who will be showing off their latest introductions and innovations.

If you are headed to California in April, how is your planning coming along? Have you purchased your plane tickets for your trip, reserved your hotel rooms and mapped out your itinerary yet?

GPN can’t help you with the plane tickets or hotel rooms, but we can point you in the right direction when you are mapping out your trip and setting up your appointment schedule.

The digital edition of our 2017 California Spring Trials Companion is now available on www.gpnmag.com. In the Companion, you will find maps with all of the addresses of the various trial locations as well as contact info for each site. You will also find some restaurant recommendations along the Spring Trials trail that our staff has discovered over the years. Be sure to bookmark the link — it is a handy planning tool as well as a resource you can refer to while you are on the road.

When it comes to setting up your individual appointments, AmericanHort has set up an online registration site for many of the participating locations. You can find it at http://springtrials.americanhort.org.

GPN’s Culture Connection e-newsletter has been providing sneak peeks of some of the new varieties that will be debuting at California Spring Trials. Jasmina Dolce’s first two previews are currently available on our website. Click here to read her first preview. Volume two of her sneak peeks can be read here.

Jasmina will be providing more sneak peeks from the breeding companies in the Culture Connection in the weeks leading up to Spring Trials. If you don’t currently receive GPN’s Culture Connection, just go to www.gpnmag.com and sign up in the subscription box in the upper right hand corner.

If you haven’t planned your California Spring Trials schedule yet, there is no time like the present. Here’s the link again to GPN’s 2017 California Spring Trials Companion.
