Are You an Early Bird? By Tim Hodson

Are you planning on attending Cultivate’18 this July?

This year, our industry’s biggest summer event will take place July 14-17, in Columbus, Ohio.

In 2018, AmericanHort is introducing a new hotel registration system for attendees and exhibitors.

For the first time, there will be an early-bird registration process to reserve hotel rooms in Columbus. Beginning on Feb. 12 and running through Feb. 23, you can register as an early bird and you will receive an assigned date to book your hotel room for Cultivate’18.

All registrants within each category (Premium Members; Top 50 exhibitors; AmericanHort Plus and Basic members; Non-AmericanHort members) will be able to book hotels on a first-come, first-serve basis on the date specified in their hotel booking email.

According to AmericanHort, dates will be assigned and prioritized based on membership and to alleviate overwhelming system congestion experienced in previous years.

AmericanHort has blocks of rooms set aside for each group of registrants. Registering as an Early Bird is designed to give attendees the best opportunity for securing their top hotel picks. But, since the show hotels have limited space, this opportunity does not guarantee final outcome.

This two-step process was created to eliminate the system congestion that can cause long wait times and any potential computer slowdowns. The specific day to book hotel rooms lets attendees know exactly when they are able to complete their hotel bookings.

More than 10,000 attendees from 30+ countries are expected to converge on Columbus this summer to see the products and services from more than 700 companies on the trade show floor. The educational program will include approximately 120 professional development sessions led by 150 industry experts.
