Standouts in the Rockies By Jasmina Dolce

As the season’s many plant trials come to a close, there is one trial that cannot go unmentioned. Each year, Welby Gardens, located in Arvada, Colorado and exclusive grower of the Hardy Boy Plants brand, grows and tests the latest in plant genetics.

Welby Gardens works closely with breeders, brokers and universities to produce proven garden performers and is now in its 29th year conducting this extensive trial.

On August 7, 400 industry professionals attended the Welby Gardens flower trials and voted on their favorites from 950 trialed varieties. And the company recently announced which varieties rose to the top in votes.

Petunia ‘Midnight Gold’ from Ball FloraPlant was the clear winner, but here are a select few that also made it into the Top 20.

To see the full Top 20, go to Hardy Boy Plant Facebook page.
