As a member of team that directs the breeding and selection of a national plant brand, has helped improve the trialing processes used to evaluate and bring new plant varieties to market. During graduate school at Cornell University, did extensive research in the breeding of alstroemeria.

Favorite Hobby: “I love cooking. I’m fairly fearless when it comes to concocting complicated meals. Yes, I mess them up sometimes, but when they work they’re really good!”

That Spartan Sound: As a trumpet player at Michigan state University, Betsy’s musical skills have been seen and heard at Big Ten Tournaments, NCAA Tournaments, a bowl game and numerous other events.
