• Served as greenhouse/floriculture outreach specialist focusing on propagation and nutrient management of herbaceous perennials, greenhouse substrates and alternatives, and floriculture crop diagnostics.

• Started his own greenhouse business in high school and maintained it during his undergraduate and graduate years in college.

A Movie Featuring Dinosaurs and Plants: Garrett’s favorite flick is “Jurassic Park.” “It intrigued my interests in archaeology, paleontology, and paleobotany. I thought it would be fascinating to discover and study megafauna or recover and identify plants that had not seen the light of day for millions of years so that others could learn and be amazed.”
