Six of One, a Half Dozen of… By Tim Hodson

It's hard to believe, but 2012 is already half over!

It seems like it was just yesterday that we were at California Spring Trials checking out all of the new variety introductions. and eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring.

But spring has sprung and we are now entering into the dog days of summer. Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?

So now that we have reached the half way point, I have a few questions for you. What has been your biggest challenge so far this year? Was it the weather? The economy? Fuel prices? Labor issues?

What were your biggest successes this spring? What was the most successful variety that you grew this year? Why do you think it was so successful?

What caught you off guard and totally surprised you during the first six months?

How is the second half of 2012 looking for your business? What changes are you making based on what happened during the first six months of the year?

I know I have asked a lot of questions here, but inquiring minds want to know how your first six months were? Drop me a line at thodson@sgcmail.com and let me know how your 2012 has been so far and what it looks like in the coming months.

Even though Spring Trials is already a few months in the rear view mirror, but be sure to check out Jasmina Radjevic's article highlighting this year's new intros on page 16.
