The American Floral Endowment (AFE) is accepting applications for two floriculture and horticulture internship programs: the Vic & Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship Program and the Mosmiller Intern Scholarship Program. Both programs provide students with hands-on experience in greenhouse production, nursery operations, retail, wholesale or allied industries.

Applications are due March 1.

The Vic & Margaret Ball Intern Scholarship Program offers paid internships lasting three, four or six months at commercial greenhouses or nurseries. Students can receive scholarships of up to $6,000, and faculty members who visit students at their internship sites are eligible for up to $1,000 in travel reimbursement.

The Mosmiller Intern Scholarship Program supports students seeking careers in retail or wholesale floral operations. It provides 10- to 16-week paid internships and scholarships of $2,000.

Jaclyn Reding, a former intern, highlighted the impact of the experience, stating, “Working as an intern taught me more in a few weeks than my years of college courses on the same topics!”

Both programs aim to equip students with practical skills and industry connections to advance their careers in floriculture and horticulture. More details and application information are available on AFE’s website.
