HRI Grants, Scholarship Deadlines This Month
The deadlines for the Horticultural Research Institute competitive grants and student scholarship programs are approaching. Research grant applications for FY 2013 are due on May 15. Student scholarship applications are due on May 30.
The deadlines for the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) competitive grants and student scholarship programs are approaching.
Research grant applications for FY 2013 are due on May 15. Student scholarship applications are due on May 30.
HRI is committed to support annual research efforts focused on the highest priority needs of the green industry.
Key research areas for 2013 include : boxwood blight, green industry sustainability, pest management, marketing and business development, and resource and horticultural management.

Student scholarships for 2012 include :
- $2,000 (1) Timothy Bigelow and Palmer W. Bigelow, Jr. Scholarship: Student must be a resident of a New England state.
- $1,000 (2) Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship: Student must be a resident of VA, MD or WV.
- $1,000 (1) Muggets Scholarship
- $1,500 (1) Spring Meadow Nursery Scholarship
Students must complete the online application by May 30.
