Midwest Green Industry Experience Registration Opens
Attendee registration is open for the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association’s annual regional conference, Midwest Green Industry Experience (MGIX). It will take place Jan. 15–17, 2018 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Green industry professionals can register for the event at www.mgix18.com. Early bird registration fees range from $15 to $259, with discounted pricing ending Dec. 20.
More than 90 education sessions comprise a wide variety of topics, from business and marketing best practices to design, irrigation, and lighting trends. Educators from The Ohio State University will lead 24 sessions focused on pest and disease management and horticulture research.
Attendees and exhibitors are welcome to bring their spouses and families to MGIX to take part in family-friendly activities and education sessions on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
On Jan. 14, attendees can participate in pre-conference education sessions focused on the unique challenges of owning or working for a family business. Spouses and children accompanying MGIX attendees are free to explore several family attractions within walking distance of the Convention Center. In the evening, families can join other attendees and exhibitors at MGIX Sunday Dinner to enjoy a menu of homestyle comfort food and entertainment by the Ohio State University Alumni Band.
On Jan. 15, three additional education sessions (included in an MGIX education pass) focus on family business topics such as wealth transfer and communications challenges between generations, while all ages can enjoy entertainment by the Bug Man and the Columbus Zoo. MGIX family programs conclude with a picnic-style lunch.

The 2018 show floor features more than 200 exhibitors, a new product showcase, and a garden lounge. New this year, product demonstrations and educational presentations take place on a feature stage.

Attendees are also invited to the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association’s annual awards ceremony on Jan. 14. The association will present the winners of its 45th annual Landscape Awards and the recipients of ONLA’s Professional Awards and 2018 Scholarships.
