OHP Introduces New Insecticidal Soap

OHP has added Kopa, a new insecticidal soap, to its portfolio of OHP biosolutions.

Kopa insecticidal soap

Kopa is a potassium salt of fatty acid soap that controls insects, mites and powdery mildew. The insecticidal soap is approved for organic production and is OMRI listed.

“It is a great rotational tool for an insect and mite control program, whether biological or conventional,” said Dan Stahl, OHP vice president and general manager.

Kopa provides fast broad-spectrum activity on foliar insects in the greenhouse, nursery, and landscape markets.

“When Kopa is applied, the spray solution coats the insects or mite pest and causes suffocation and or desiccation. This action results in a quick knockdown. Due to its short residual it is ideal for programs using beneficial insects or predators. Growers should introduce predators the next day or make sure not to contact them with the spray,” said Carlos Bográn, OHP’s manager of technical services.

Kopa carries a 12-hour Restricted Entry Interval (REI) and Caution signal word.
