Van Belle Introduces 2017 Bloomin’ Easy Varieties

Van Belle Nursery has added eight new, exclusive varieties to its Bloomin’ Easy collection. These additions bring the total number of proprietary cultivars to thirteen – a ‘baker’s dozen’.

Young plants of these new varieties will be distributed across North America to growers beginning this fall, and will be available in limited quantities in garden centers for spring and summer 2017.

Bloomin’ Easy is Van Belle Nursery’s line of improved, low-maintenance flowering shrubs for North American landscapes and patios. The brand is designed for casual gardeners and homeowners. Bloomin’ Easy encourages them to “jump-in” with relevant packaging, messaging and after-purchase support.

New Bloomin’ Easy varieties include:

• Diervilla ‘Firefly Nightglow’ Foliage begins dark red and intensifies from spring to fall
• Hydrangea pan. ‘Lavalamp Candlelight’ Incredible upright candelabra form
• Hydrangea pan. ‘Lavalamp Flare’ Blooms turn brighter red than other compact paniculata hydrangeas
• Hydrangea pan. ‘Lavalamp Sublime’ Creamy blooms emerge with a strong lime center that lasts through summer
• Potentilla ‘Bella Bellissima’ Loaded with large pink flowers that deepen as they age
• Potentilla ‘Bella Sol’ Loaded with large orange flowers that deepen as they age
• Spiraea ‘Poprocks Rainbow Fizz’ Foliage begins copper, changes to lemon-gold, then fades to copper-red in fall
• Weigela ‘Date Night Strobelight’ Bright pink flowers contrast foliage which starts green and bronze, changes to orange, and finally crimson red
