Walters Gardens Announces Staff Promotions, New Hire

Walters Gardens has promoted and added team members to three key departments. These changes have been made to meet needs created by recent growth and to better support an expanding customer base.

“We are thrilled to expand and strengthen our sales team. With Tim’s new role and adding Laura, Kata, and Matt we are much better positioned to support our customers. Caitlin and Andrew have been key players at Walters Gardens and their promotions are well deserved,” said Christa Steenwyk, Walters Gardens vice president of marketing and customer relations

Tim Anderson has been promoted to director of national accounts and business development. Since 2012 Tim has been instrumental building key relationships for Walters Gardens and helping to grow the Proven Winners Perennials brand. In his new role Tim will continue to handle key accounts as well as handling leadership responsibilities surrounding sales and inventory goals.

Laura Robles has transitioned from trials manager to regional product manager, supporting Walters Gardens business in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and western New York. Her experience as trials manager gives her a unique understanding of Walters Gardens’ product and will be an asset in her new role.

Kata Kress Wallace joins Walters Gardens as a regional product manager focusing on Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Kata previously worked at Hoffman Nursery. She will now be focusing on Walters Gardens’ business in the southeast.

Matt Pielin has a new role as sales support specialist. He will be assisting the sales team with higher level day to day tasks and key account customer service.

Caitlin Splawski has been promoted from trials grower to trials manager.  As trials manager, she will take over responsibilities related to organizing container trials and care of plants in the trials department.

Andrew Jager is now marketing manager.  In his new role, he will oversee the day to day operations of the marketing department as well as managing major marketing projects for Walters Gardens.
