Ranunculus

‘Magic Orange’ and ‘Magic Rose’, two new additions to the Magic series, are naturally dwarf ranunculus featuring large blooms on short flower stems. They are ideal for early spring gardens.

High-quality ranunculus is best obtained with cool night temperatures and short day conditions. Low temperatures and high light levels will result in large flowers with an intense color. Bloom stems will increase in height as the days get longer in early spring.

Select a porous media that drains well. Maintain pH level at 6.0-6.5 and EC at 0.5-1.0. After transplanting, maintain temperature at 58-62° F for two weeks or until roots are well developed and foliage has reached the edges of pots. Once established, lower night temperature to 40-50° F with 50-60° F days. High temperatures will stimulate corm formation or promote leaf yellowing. Magic varieties will not tolerate temperature stress.

Magic varieties will reach a garden height of 6-8 inches and width of 4-6 inches.
