New York City Blooms with VeriFlora Certified Flowers
In the past year, more than 23,000 children and volunteers at hospitals and schools painted 80,000 flowers, which now adorn the iconic yellow cabs of New York City, N.Y. Last week, thousands of volunteers and taxi drivers handed out “VeriFlora Certified Sustainable Grown” flowers to pedestrians and passengers with a message of community and cooperation: “Move this Flower Along!”
“Flowers are a universal symbol of joy,” says VeriFlora spokesperson Annie Gardiner, “and we are partnering with Portraits of Hope to put New York City in full bloom.”
Garden in Transit, a project of Portraits of Hope, is a public art tribute to teamwork and collaboration.
The VeriFlora label is a consumer guarantee of environmental protection, fair labor and product quality. VeriFlora-certified flowers and potted plants are available in the United States and Canada through numerous retailers and wholesalers.
