- After earning her Ph.D. from University of Florida, Debalina joined Michigan State University as tenure track assistant professor with three-way appointment in research, teaching and Extension.
- Established an applied research program at MSU focusing on weed management for ornamental crop production and Christmas tree production to help growers improve their productivity.
Different Strokes: A trained swimmer and a painter, Debalina has been painting for more than 13 years and paints with watercolors, charcoal, pastels, and pencil sketches.
What’s for Dinner? Her favorite Indian dish is Chicken Biriyani. “This dish is made of long-grain Basmati rice flavored with different spices such as saffron, cloves, cinnamon, etc., which is cooked with big chunks of chicken pieces. I like the flavor and aroma.”
