In 2016, Katie was the recipient of the inaugural Emergent Communicator Award from GWA — The Association for Garden Communicators.
Serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Nursery & Landscape Association and several different committees of industry associations like the National Initiative for Consumer Horticulture, GWA and the National Wildlife Foundation Pollinator Challenge.

When She’s Not Working: Katie practices Bikram yoga, enjoys doing puzzles and Sudoku, mixes a mean cocktail and gardens excessively.

Fun Facts

A Triple Threat: Katie successfully completed the New York Triathlon — a 1.5-kilometer swim, followed by a 40-kilometer bike ride and a 10-kilometer run through New York City. “It was a tough road, but a great personal accomplishment.”
