Project EverGreen Unveils SHOVELS DisplaySource: Project EverGreen

Project EverGreen unveiled the SHOVELS ArtWork at a special invitation-only reception on Nov. 2, 2006, and then exhibited the shovels in the central hall during the Green Industry Expo in Columbus, Ohio.

“The goal of SHOVELS was to graphically show our industry’s determination and enthusiasm toward portraying the importance of green spaces,” said Den Gardner, executive director of Project EverGreen, “and the crowds we drew tell us the project was a big success.”

Project EverGreen sponsors were asked to donate $1,000 and then, each contributor was given a long-handled shovel donated by Corona Clipper and the challenge to convert it into a depiction of their company and how it enhances green spaces at home, work and play.

“Twenty-seven green industry manufacturers, distributors, and service providers accepted our SHOVELS challenge. Their creativity translated our important message into a collection of unique art that became not only a highlight of GIE, but also a powerful medium for conveying our mission,” Gardner said.

The display included the imaginative and attention-getting contributions of these sponsors:
Ariens, Bayer Environmental Science, Caterpillar, Inc., Cub Cadet/MTD, DataCore Marketing, Davey Tree, Dow AgroSciences, Ewing Irrigation, Focal Point, Gardner & Gardner Communications, GIE Media (Golf Course News and Lawn & Landscape), Husqvarna, John Deere, JP Horizons, Lawn Doctor, LESCO, Nicholson Kovac, NuFarm, PBI/Gordon, Phoenix Environmental Care, Questex Media (Landscape Management and Golfdom), Scotts, Swanson Russell Associates, The Catevo Group, TruGreen ChemLawn, and Weedman USA.
