UF Greenhouse Training Online courses start Sept. 16
On Sept. 16, two courses in the University of Florida Greenhouse Training Online series will be available to start, and the courses run through Oct. 11, 2024.
“Field Diagnosis of Plant Diseases” is new to the training lineup this year. It’s an intermediate level instruction that teaches detection and diagnosis of common greenhouse and nursery pathogens. This course is taught by Carrie Harmon, director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center in Gainesville, Florida, and co-director of the National Plant Diagnostic Network. This new course expands on the past “Disease Management” course.
“Nutrient Management 2” is an advanced lesson taught by Paul Fisher, creator of the Greenhouse Training Online program. Here, you will formulate your own fertilizer from various salts, diagnose nutritional issue and learn corrective actions to take.
The courses run from Sept. 16 through Oct. 11, 2024. There is a cost per participant, with a discount for registering 5 or more. All materials are available online at any time of day, and are in English and Spanish.
