2019 Oscars Nominees Receive Cannabis Goodies in Swag Bags

While not every Academy Award nominee goes home with an Oscar, they do all receive a six-figure swag bag full of luxurious gifts. The bags are put together by Distinctive Assets, a marketing company that offers products to celebrities for promotion.

This year, cannabis-infused premium brand Coda Signature was one of the companies featured in the luxury totes. Coda’s edibles can be found in 600 dispensaries in Colorado, but the company is starting to make its way into other states.

“What we wanted to do was find a platform that we could associate ourselves with to create brand awareness, and the tie-in with the Oscars have exceeded our expectations,” said Marke Grindleand, Coda founder and CEO.

Each Coda box included a unique code along with samples so nominees can order their own customized package of cannabis-infused products to be hand delivered through a licensed delivery service once Coda’s products become available in California.

“We secured a facility in California last year,” Grindeland said. “And we will be rolling out this spring.”
