The ACT Group will host its third ACT Quebec Grower Summit on Sept. 23 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, bringing local growers together to discuss technology and research shaping greenhouse operations.
The group, which includes Grodan, Philips LED Lighting, Priva and Svensson, developed this year’s theme, “Insights and Opportunities for a Changing World: From Growers. For Growers.” The summit will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Convention Centre of Saint-Hyacinthe, with lunch provided before the program begins at 12:15 p.m.
The event will feature a keynote by Sue Lewis, vice president of marketing and events at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, on the state of the industry. A new panel session, Conversations in Cultivation, will include Quebec growers sharing experiences and strategies for addressing current challenges.
Technical sessions will cover humidity control and climate uniformity from Svensson, along with results from an ongoing tomato trial by Grodan and Philips LED Lighting in the Netherlands aimed at reducing heat input by 40%. Priva, joined by IUNU and Blue Radix, will present on maximizing integrated greenhouse data for autonomous management.
The summit will close with a networking reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Registration is required by Sept. 13 and seating is limited.
