Arvesta Announces Registration Of Celero Insecticide

The Arvesta Corporation recently announced the federal registration (state registrations may be pending) of Celero insecticide for control of aphids, whiteflies and mealy bugs in ornamental crops. Celero, a new generation neonicotinoids, is registered on trees (bearing and non-bearing), shrubs, evergreens, flowers, foliage plants, ground covers and interior plantscapes, providing protection for landscape and nursery crops.

Celero, also known as clothianidan, works through contact and ingestion to stop damaging pests immediately. It also works systemically, providing season-long, residual control of aphids, whiteflies and mealy bugs. “”We’re very excited to offer this new chemistry to the ornamental market,”” said Bill Liles, turf and ornamental business manager for Arvesta. “”Celero provides growers another tool for controlling multiple pests.”” Celero insecticide also offers a favorable toxicological profile, making it a new product for a possible insect management program. Celero is available as a 16 percent water-soluble granule and features a restricted entry interval (REI) of 12 hours.
