Ball Horticultural Co. and Edison Nation are working together to find “green” innovations for the professional greenhouse and nursery industry.

Through July 16, gardeners and growers can visit www.EdisonNation.com/BallHorticultural to submit invention ideas that will encourage sustainable, responsible practices in horticulture production.

Ideas may include innovative new packaging, commercial production equipment or other inventive alternatives for nurseries and greenhouses that will support sustainability within the industry. It is free to join EdisonNation.com and $25 to submit one idea.

“We have issued a challenge through Edison Nation for imaginative new products that will not only help make horticulture professionals more successful, but will ultimately help the environment as well,” says Drew Effron, Ball Innovations. “We look forward to using this search to find new product ideas that meet this need.”

Edison Nation is a product development company and online community of inventor-entrepreneurs. The firm will review all ideas submitted during the product search.

The review includes market research and design, understanding the intellectual property space, and benchmarking the idea against the industry and possible competition. Following this thorough review, Edison Nation will present the top concepts to the Ball Horticultural team. Ball will then select ideas to license, develop and bring to market.

Selected ideas will receive a $2,500 minimum advance on 20 years percentage of sales or buyout. Edison Nation splits the royalties 50/50 with the inventor on the products selected. Royalties vary based upon the product.

Please visit www.BallHort.com and www.EdisonNation.com for additional information.

The deadline to submit ideas is 11:59 p.m. (PST) on July 16.
