Biotalys restructures with leadership and board changes

< 1 minute read

Biotalys announced leadership and board changes, including a reduction in its board of directors from eight members to six and its executive committee from four to two.

Board member Laura Meyer stepped down effective immediately. CEO Kevin Helash also departed immediately, while chief business development officer Kamal El Mernissi will leave March 31, 2026.

Carlo Boutton, currently chief scientific officer, has been named interim CEO. Patrik Haesen was appointed chair of the audit committee.

The company said the restructuring marks a shift in its organizational direction as it continues developing protein-based biocontrol solutions for crop protection.

“These leadership changes mark the beginning of a new chapter for Biotalys,” said chairman of the board Simon Moroney.

Biotalys develops biological crop protection tools, an area of growing interest among greenhouse growers seeking alternatives to traditional chemistries and tools to manage resistance and regulatory pressure.
