Breaking News: Green Fuse Botanicals Buys Bodger Botanicals

On Friday, GPN found out that the Bodger Botanicals program has been sold to Green Fuse Botanicals and will be headed by Green Fuse CEO Steve Jones and headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif. The company will continue to distribute its product line in the United States exclusively through the Henry F. Michell Company and in Canada through JVK. Bodger Botanicals started in 2000, operated by Bodger Seeds, Ltd., a division of John Bodger and Sons Company of South El Monte, Calif.

“We are happy to see this product line being carried forward by Steve, who has been closely involved from the beginning,” said Bodger President Kim Bodger. “As the program moves forward, we would like to thank all of the Bodger, Michell and JVK employees and other partners who have helped make Botanicals the success it has been.”

Bodger Botanicals’ extensive network of independent plant and flower breeders will be included in Green Fuse’s offerings for the coming season. The company will offer unrooted cuttings, produced by Grolink’s Athena Plants in Brazil, and rooted young plants supplied by rooting stations located throughout the United States and Canada.

“Bodger Botanicals gained a reputation for introducing innovative products. Green Fuse plans to follow this same model,” Jones said. “We are fortunate to be familiar with every aspect of the product line and its delivery to market. We are focused on a smooth transition for the upcoming season.”

As part of the acquisition, Green Fuse will introduce all the new varieties that were exhibited at the recent Bodger Seeds/Bodger Botanicals pack trials in Lompoc, Calif. in March/April 2009.
