CEA Summit East 2025 opens with keynote panel
CEA Summit East 2025 kicks off with a keynote panel on sustainability and growth in indoor agriculture. Learn more about speakers and registration.
Indoor Ag-Con and the CEA Innovation Center will open the 4th Annual Controlled Environment Agriculture Summit East with a keynote panel on Sept. 9, 2025, in Danville, Virginia. The session, “Cultivating Sustainable Growth: Balancing Economics and the Environment in CEA,” will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research Conference Center.
The panel will focus on economic and environmental considerations in controlled environment agriculture, with perspectives from government, technology and business.
Confirmed speakers include Matthew Lohr, Virginia secretary of agriculture and forestry; Ben Alexander, project director for Oasthouse Ventures Ltd.; and Roger Buelow, chief technology officer for COFRA Sustainable Food Group.

Lohr will offer insight on how state-level policy and investment are supporting indoor agriculture. Alexander will discuss a $104.8 million greenhouse project in Carroll County, Virginia. Buelow brings a technology and innovation background to the discussion.
“This panel reflects the core mission of the CEA Summit East — bringing different parts of the industry together to share ideas and explore solutions,” said Brian Sullivan, CEO of Indoor Ag-Con.
The summit will feature additional sessions, research showcases and tabletop exhibits focused on innovation and collaboration in indoor growing.
