According to comScore, a company that provides digital business analytic services based in Reston, Va., a little more than 6 percent of smartphone owners said they had scanned a QR code on their mobile device.
Nearly 60 percent of those individuals said they had scanned a code at home, while about 40 percent of the respondents have scanned codes at a retail store and 25 percent at a grocery store.
About half (49.4 percent) said they scanned a QR in a newspaper or magazine, while 35.3 percent scanned a code on product packaging.
