Dümmen Opens New Facility in El SalvadorSource: Dümmen USA

Last week, Dümmen announced that the company had opened a new greenhouse facility, “Las Mercedes,” in El Salvador.

“We researched the location in detail to find the ideal growing climate for the highest quality cuttings: high light, low humidity and good temperature. Also, the proximity to major airports allows flexibility in efficiently shipping to U.S. and Canadian customers, and for receiving our proprietary cultures from Europe, said the company’s general manager Iris Schulz-Dummen.

Phase One of 23 acres is currently under way with 250 workers onsite. The first motherplants will be planted Week 22/2009 and the first cuttings are expected to begin shipping Week 35/2009. Phase Two will add another 18 acres.
