On Oct. 21, Florikan, a specialist in polymer-coated, controlled release fertilizers, celebrated the grand opening of its new 85,000-square-foot manufacturing, distribution and warehousing facility in the Hardee County Commerce Park in Bowling Green, Florida.

“This facility represents a mutually beneficial partnership that allows a second-generation family business to advance in today’s marketplace with help from the Small Business Administration, the Hardee County Industrial Development Authority, and community bank all working together to increase production for a product developed with assistance from NASA,” said Florikan President Eric Rosenthal. “It is Florida-based manufacturing, job creation and economic development bringing solutions to Florida agricultural and horticultural producers with a progressive technology that aids in efficient crop production and reduces environmental impacts, which conserves our resources.”

To better support the rising demand for its products, Florikan is doubling its production capacity to 30,000 tons and increasing the storage capacity of its distribution and finished goods warehouse. Florikan will continue to offer a diverse portfolio of fertilizer products engineered by two unique CRF technologies, Gal-XEONE Florikote and Nutricote, which will now be manufactured and distributed, respectively, out of the Hardee County location for the agricultural, turf and ornamental industries.
