FlowerTrials 2026 attracted 4,909 visitors from 89 countries, generating more than 77,500 company visits across the four-day event held June 9-12, according to organizers. Visitors toured an average of 16 exhibiting companies, the highest average recorded by the event.

The event featured 58 breeders presenting new genetics, breeding developments and flowering plant displays across multiple locations. Total attendance was down 0.8% from 2025, but company visits reached their highest level since 2019.

Stephen Page of Walter Blom Plants said visitor numbers at his company were more than 25% higher than last year and that exhibitors were strengthening existing relationships while establishing new connections.

Weather became an unexpected talking point during the event after severe hailstorms and heavy rain affected outdoor locations in the South region. Annieck Nota-Ruijgrok of Beekenkamp Plants said displays remained in strong condition despite the weather, providing a demonstration of plant performance under challenging conditions.

Exhibitors also showcased retail display concepts designed around consumer and social media trends. Michael Perry, known as Mr. Plant Geek, said the displays offered retailers ideas for presenting new plant introductions in stores.

Benary representatives used the event to discuss market trends, exchange ideas with customers and industry professionals, and provide product information and variety recommendations for different markets.

Visitors traveled from markets including South Korea, the United States and China to evaluate new varieties and marketing opportunities. Organizers said the event reinforced the value of in-person meetings and business relationship building within the global horticulture industry.

The event drew 5,000 visitors from more than 90 countries in 2025, and organizers said international interest continues to grow.

The event is designed for breeders, growers and retailers. Breeders can compare new genetics when plants are at peak appearance, growers can receive advice on cultivation techniques, and retailers can review trends and merchandising concepts before they reach the market.
