Four Star Greenhouse VP departing for aviation
Curt Varsogea, vice president of sales and business development at Four Star Greenhouse, will leave the company to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot, the company announced. Varsogea has spent nearly two decades with Four Star, contributing to the growth and success of the company’s Proven Winners program.
Varsogea joined Four Star in 2006 after working in the automotive industry. He originally connected with Four Star owner Tom Smith through their shared interest in aviation and later attended a Proven Winners Roadshow, which influenced his decision to transition to horticulture.
“Working at Four Star has changed my life in so many positive ways — through the people I’ve met, the work I’ve been able to do, and the personal and professional growth that came with it,” Varsogea said. “It’s never just been about selling plants; it’s always been about the relationships.”
During his time at Four Star, Varsogea was instrumental in business development and fostering customer relationships. He credited the horticulture industry’s culture and collaborative environment with providing personal and professional fulfillment.
Varsogea plans to begin his aviation career in the new year. In his departure statement, he expressed gratitude for his experiences at Four Star and for the Proven Winners program. He leaves with nearly 20 years of experience in ornamental sales and business development.
