Goodyear Blimp Crashes into NurserySource: Various

In an effort to land at its home airport in Los Angeles, Calif., one of the Goodyear Blimps crashed into MB Nursery in Carson, Calif. The blimp was carrying the pilot and cameraman when it crashed and landed 300 yards from its destination point around 10:00 p.m. December 10.

According to the L.A. Times, operators were trying to pull the blimp to the ground and lost control of the ropes. Both passengers of the blimp were not seriously injured but the cameraman complained of minor injuries.

In a video of the scene, it showed the blimp nose first onto the ground on top of a semitrailer, according to CNN.com. There is not much damage done to the blimp other than its nose. Damage to the nursery is not yet known and as of press time, the blimp had still not been removed to access complete damage reports.
