Google Bans Marijuana Delivery Apps

Google updated its Play Store and has added a rule banning apps that facilitate the sale of marijuana or marijuana products β€” whether they’re operating legally or not.

The new policy states that the Google Play Store will prohibit apps that allow users to order marijuana through an in-app shopping cart feature, assist users in arranging delivery or pick up or marijuana, or facilitate the sale of products containing THC such as edibles.

Apps that offer prohibited features have 30 days to comply with the new policies and remove any features that violate Play Store rules. If they fail to do so in that time frame, the apps are at risk of being removed from the Play Store.
