Harnois partnership expands production for Quebec grower
Greenhouse Vegetables, a Quebec-based family business, has reached 1 million square feet of greenhouse production across three sites, a milestone achieved through its partnership with Harnois Greenhouses. The company produces six crops and 20 varieties, including radishes, and plays a key role in bolstering Quebec’s year-round food production.
The newest addition to its facilities is a 65,000-square-foot Luminosa greenhouse, custom-designed to optimize yield and sustainability.
“Working with Harnois Greenhouses has transformed our approach to cultivation,” said Steve Bertrand, co-owner of Greenhouse Vegetables. “We’ve significantly reduced pesticide use, offer high-quality local production, and lower our carbon footprint. These advancements show quality and sustainability can go hand in hand.”
The collaboration showcases the impact of local expertise in driving innovation in greenhouse agriculture. Harnois Greenhouses’ VP of sales, Corenthin Félix-Chassouant, emphasized the alignment of shared values, saying, “We are proud to contribute to their success with custom-designed greenhouses that maximize year-round yield.”
Greenhouse Vegetables’ expansion reflects the growing importance of controlled environment agriculture in meeting demand for local, sustainable food.
