Employee-owned Harrell’s has made the appointment of current Harrell’s president and chief operating officer, Jack Harrell III, as their new chief executive officer and chairman of the Board, in addition to his current title of president of the company.

Jack succeeds his father and former chief executive officer and chairman of the Board, Jack Harrell Jr., after his recent passing. The news comes from the company’s corporate office in Lakeland, Florida, where Jack III was elected unanimously by the Harrell’s board of directors.

Regarding his new appointment, Jack sasid, “It is an honor to take on this new leadership role. To be the 4th generation Harrell to lead this company means a great deal to me. Following in the footsteps of my great-grandfather, grandfather, and father is a tall task and one I do not take lightly. It is impossible to replace my father, but I will work every day to honor the legacy and culture he created by doing all the things he taught me and instilled in me. I look forward to continuing to work with our Vice Chairman Dave Schermerhorn as my father did for the last 20 years. It is an incredible honor to get to lead this great team at Harrell’s.”
