Horticultural leaders invited to apply for 2026 academy
The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) has opened applications for the HRI Leadership Academy Class of 2026, a program designed to enhance leadership skills among green industry professionals. The academy aims to support growth and future readiness within horticulture.
The one-year program includes in-person sessions and online classes, offering participants an opportunity to strengthen leadership abilities, deepen industry knowledge, and network with peers. According to HRI board president Leigh Geschwill, “Our commitment is to empower passionate, dedicated individuals ready to lead the future of horticulture.”
Applications are open until Feb. 7, 2025, with interviews in March and April and final selection in May. Candidates should have at least five years of leadership experience and seven years in the industry, with selection based on leadership potential, community-mindedness, and commitment to horticulture. The program, sponsored by AmericanHort, is tuition-free.
Selected participants will be announced at Cultivate’25 in Columbus, Ohio, July 12-15, 2025.
