IR-4 Biopesticide Workshop Set for September

The IR-4 Project, based out of Rutgers University, will host an IR-4 Biopesticide Workshop, Sept. 21.

The workshop will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Orlando, Florida.

The workshop will cover pest management needs for specialty crop agriculture, pesticide residue mitigation and export enhancement. Group discussions will be held for topics in entomology, plant pathology and weed science. A vote will take place to determine pest management priorities. Potential solutions under each priority (entomology, plant pathology and weed science) will be discussed in groups following the vote. Results from the breakout groups will be presented.

This event was attended by more than 180 participants last year from research, extension, USDA and industry. All members of the plant health community are invited to share ongoing research interests, pest management tactics and strategies, and address emerging issues.
