Last 2024 UF greenhouse training online begins soon

University of Florida IFAS Extension will offer its final greenhouse training course for 2024, Practical Disease Management, running Nov. 11 through Dec. 13. The intermediate-level course, designed for those with some experience in diagnosing plant diseases, focuses on managing disease spread, prevention, and safe fungicide application.

Available in both English and Spanish, the course covers both organic and conventional management strategies. Carrie Harmon, director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center and co-director of the National Plant Diagnostic Network, will lead the course.

“This new course expands on past training to make it easy to understand and apply to day-to-day work in the greenhouse,” said Harmon.

Participants will access eight online learning modules, released two per week, and engage in quizzes and interactive discussions with professors. The course requires about four hours weekly and is self-paced. Registration costs $275, with a 20% discount available for groups of five or more.
