Massachusetts City Opens First Medical Marijuana Business
Mass Alternative Care Inc. celebrated its grand opening last Friday, Sept. 21, at 1247 E. Main St. in Chicopee, Massachusetts. It was the city’s first marijuana business.
CEO Kevin Collins Sr. said the medical marijuana facility’s mission will be to provide high-quality products for patients.
Only those with medical marijuana cards issued by Massachusetts Department of Public Health and another ID such as a driver’s license can enter the facility. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
The business plans to employ 35 full- and part-time employees.
The plan is for the company to produce and dispense more than two dozen different kinds of marijuana products, in edible, rub, capsule and other forms.
