MSU forms new partnership to bridge research and business
Michigan State University AgBioResearch and three MSU colleges have announced a new partnership aimed at helping scientists turn research into practical solutions for businesses and government.
The collaboration involves AgBioResearch, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the College of Natural Science, and the Broad College of Business. The partnership will focus on training scientists to apply their research to real-world challenges.
“This is a significant step forward in MSU’s mission to encourage scientists to transform their research into businesses and actionable solutions,” said Eric Hegg, dean of the College of Natural Science.
Key goals include developing a curriculum on supply chain resiliency and preparing students for careers in agriculture and natural resources. Input from external stakeholders will help ensure the curriculum aligns with industry needs.
Ian Olson has been appointed executive in residence, supply chain resiliency. In this new role, Olson will lead efforts to connect research outcomes with business strategies and create innovative funding opportunities.
