America in Bloom has announced the National Garden Bureau as this year's recipient of the "America in Bloom Spirit Award."

America in Bloom (AIB) has announced the National Garden Bureau (NGB) as this year’s recipients of the “America in Bloom Spirit Award.” The award recognizes organizations whose missions and activities are consistent and complementary to the goals of AIB. “We are honored to be recognized by America in Bloom for our commitment to gardening,” said Diane Blazek, NGB executive director. “Just like AIB, NGB knows the value that plants bring to the environment, to beautifying communities and to improving human health and well-being.” NGB will receive the award in September during AIB’s annual conference in Orlando, Fla. “NGB and its members are leaders in motivating and inspiring people to use plants in their homes, gardens and workplaces. We congratulate NGB on their efforts,” said Marvin Miller, AIB’s president. At the 2013 symposium event, awards will be presented in five different areas: outstanding achievement, population category awards, John R. Holmes III Community Champion Award, Special Awards and the YouTube Video Award. For more information on America in Bloom, visit www.americainbloom.org.
