Plant Watch Nursery Inspections Expand to CanadaSource: Plant Watch

The Plant Watch nursery inspection program has expanded its range to include Canada.

The Plant Watch nursery inspection program has expanded its range to include Canada. Plant Watch representatives document to what degree growers respect patents, plant breeder rights (PBR) and trademarks during an inspection. Since 2011, Spring Meadow Nursery, Bailey Nurseries, The Conard-Pyle Co. and Plant Development Services have used Plant Watch services to monitor and inspect nurseries. Nurseries found to be noncompliant are assessed a fine based on the number of unauthorized plants discovered. The destruction of those plants is required. In 2014, more than 300 inspections occurred from New York to British Columbia and Ontario to Florida. For more information, visit www.plantwatch.org.
