Signify launches 4-channel LED lights for growers

Signify has expanded its Philips GreenPower toplighting force (TLF) line with new 4-channel LED lights, offering greenhouse growers greater control over crop development and energy use.

The new fixtures are available in 800W and 1040W versions and feature red, blue, white and far-red channels. When connected to the Philips GrowWise control system, growers can customize dynamic light recipes and adjust photon flux and energy output in real time based on crop stage, sunlight levels or energy costs.

These updates follow the introduction of the TLF 2.1 at GreenTech in 2024 and broaden the 2- and 3-channel TLF lineup. The system is designed for crops such as cucumbers, chrysanthemums, strawberries and young plants, which benefit from targeted lighting strategies like end-of-day far-red treatments.

“Growers cultivating crops such as cucumbers, chrysanthemums, strawberries and young plants will benefit from the ability to apply specific light treatments,” the company stated in the release.

The lights reach outputs of up to 5150 μmol/s and efficacy up to 4.3 μmol/J at 50% power, or 3.9 μmol/J at 100%. Signify’s patented Quadro Beam optics support uniform light distribution, even in installations with shorter distances between the lights and crop canopy.

The IP66-rated lights are designed for high-humidity environments and allow for easy maintenance. Wireless and coded-mains control options offer additional flexibility in setup and zoning.
