Summit Plastic, Ball Announce Price Reduction on Bio-PotsSource: Ball Horticultural Co., Summit Plastic

Effective immediately, Summit Plastic and Ball Horticultural Co. have reduced the price of their pots made from renewable bio-materials.

Effective immediately, Summit Plastic and Ball Horticultural Co. announce a price reduction for their pots made from renewable bio-materials.

The price reductions affect TerraShell home compostable pots; select Rice Hull NetPots; and trays made of plant-based materials (PLA).

“Working as bio-packaging partners, Summit and Ball have been able to increase volume and improve production efficiencies to make these price reductions possible this season,” says Summit president Norm Belliveau.

TerraShell pot prices have been reduced by 20 percent; four sizes of Rice Hull NetPots have been reduced by 10 percent; and PLA trays are also 20 percent lower than last year’s prices.

TerraShell pots, in addition to being third-party certified home compostable, fit growers’ automated filling processes and can be custom printed.

“Growers can brand TerraShell in up to six-color printing,” says Belliveau. “Besides the lower price, we’ve reduced the minimum print runs to 10,000 pots.”
