UK Extension Hosting Grower’s Guide To Hemp Production Meetings

Regional meetings hosted by University of Kentucky Extension this spring will provide producers information on various aspects of hemp production in Kentucky. These full-day, educational programs will be hosted in Fayette, Warren, Hardin, Marshall and Breathitt counties.

All programs are open to growers of any experience level, or those interested in beginning to grow hemp. Programs run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A registration fee, varying from $10 to $15, is required.

Topics to be discussed during the hemp programs include:

• Production Systems
• Site Selection and Soils
• Budgets and Risk Management
• Cultivar Information
• Fertility
• Planting
• Pest Risks and Management
• Harvest
• Harvest Equipment

Featured speakers will be representing the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and University of Kentucky departments, such as Ag Economics, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Ag Engineering, Horticulture, and Plant & Soil Sciences.
